There are plenty of Memorial Day start-of-summer events across Oklahoma. I wanted to find some Memorial Day-specific events for you and your family.
Moore Memorial Day Ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park (Moore)
The City of Moore will host its annual Memorial Day ceremony from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Veterans Memorial Park, alongside the American Legion and Moore VFW.

Edmond Brass Band
The Edmond Historical Brass Band will perform Civil War-era music during a special Memorial Day performance from 9-10 a.m. Monday at the Edmond History Museum.
The event is free and open to the public at the museum, 431 S. Boulevard in Edmond.

Fort Sill Memorial Day observances and military remembrance events (Lawton)
From The Lawton Constitution: Fort Sill will conduct its Memorial Day observance on Monday. The Commanding General has directed that the ceremony be held at Post Cemetery and include the national salute.
The observance will be at 11:45 a.m. Monday.

Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs (Langston)
The Oklahoma Department of Veterans Affairs will host a Memorial Day observance program on Monday at the Wm. Conrad Veterans Memorial Gardens in Langston, marking 250 years of American independence while honoring fallen service members.
The opening reception begins at 10 a.m. Monday, followed by the ceremony at 11 a.m. Air Force veteran and Langston University Board of Trustees Chair Dr. Sherman Lewis will deliver the keynote address.
The event will also feature music from Mr. Isaac B. Coleman Jr. of OKC and the St. James AME Church Mass Choir of Arcadia. The program will be streamed live on the WCVMG Facebook page.

Enid Memorial Day event
Enid hosted several Memorial Day weekend events honoring veterans and fallen service members, culminating in the cityβs annual Memorial Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Monday at the Enid Woodring Regional Airport Joint Use Hangar.
Mondayβs ceremony features a Hall of Honor presentation, dedication of the Living Wall, and a Blue Star Mothers Blue to Gold ceremony. Veterans and families will also receive a free barbecue lunch following Mondayβs observance.

Tulsa-area Memorial Day event
The Maple Ridge Memorial Day 5K & Fun Run will return Monday in Tulsa, with proceeds fully benefiting the VFW.
Race-day registration and packet pickup begin at 7 a.m. on Owasso Island, followed by the one-mile fun run at 8 a.m. and the 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m.
All participants will receive a race shirt, while 5K finishers will also earn a medal. Organizers are offering discounted registration for veterans and children 12 and under.

Floral Haven Memorial Day service (Broken Arrow)
Floral Haven will mark Memorial Day with two special observances Monday, including the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m., when Americans are encouraged to pause for one minute of silence honoring fallen service members, veterans and military families.
Later Monday, members of the Indian Nations Council of the Boy Scouts of America will conduct the annual βRetiring of the Colorsβ ceremony at 5 p.m., lowering the Garrison Flag and other flags across the Veterans Field of Honor and Floral Havenβs Avenue of Flags.
