If you're looking for a Father's Day plan that doesn't involve another tie, a pair of kitschy socks, or a coffee mug, OKANA Resort & Waterpark has you covered.
Two words: BBQ and Bourbon. Do I have your attention?
You can smell this photo of Smoked Brisket. I’m sure of it.
Based on my Father’s Day preview sips, this is legit bourbon. My regular go-to is Old Forester 100 (fantastic flavor and very reasonable price point) — and this compares quite favorably!
The resort on the outskirts of downtown Oklahoma City is hosting a Father's Day Outdoor BBQ Buffet on Sunday, June 21, featuring smoked meats, chef-driven specialties and a lineup of activities designed to keep the whole family entertained.

The event goes beyond the food. But let’s talk about the eats, shall we? Oklahoma Memo got to attend a Father’s Day tasting preview — and let’s just say that I left that event fat and happy. (Check out the menu!)
Yes, I loved barbecue like the next red-blooded Oklahoman, but you win me over with the sides. Just take a look!
Delicious Grilled Street Corn Elote, all part of the outdoor Father’s Day BBQ celebration at OKANA Resort & Waterpark.

Yes, these are mashed potatoes. However, Oklahoma Memo got to attend a recent preview of this Father’s Day menu, and they were anything but ordinary. Flavorful and ultra creamy, these are Roasted Garlic Yukon Whipped Potatoes!
Father’s Day is going to be a great time at OKANA Resort and Waterpark, but they’re looking out for Dad’s health, too! We’re calling this one the Grilled Summer Squash Medley.
Is that Tajin on my watermelon? I don’t think one piece is going to do.
Dads can sample Horse Soldier Bourbon, watch a live cigar roller, or get fitted for a custom cowboy hat by Ol' Glory Hat Company. Families can also enjoy live music, cornhole, putting games, football inflatables, a wiffle ball home run derby and Father's Day craft activities.
OKANA says the goal is simple: good food, good company and a memorable Father's Day experience.
