Candor is now Honeymoon!

Candor, one of Oklahoma’s best-known and most-awarded marketing agencies, will now be known as Honeymoon. While the firm is getting a new name, bolstering its Oklahoma presence and perspective remains a priority.

“We have a unique opportunity to bring national brand expertise to regional clients, as well as a regional perspective to national clients who want their message to resonate across the heartland,” said former Candor President Ally Glavas, who is now Honeymoon’s regional president. “We’ve been operating as one for some time, and now we have a brand that reflects that.”

The new brand follows Candor’s 2023 acquisition by Chicago-based Salient Holdings, which has been carefully integrating Candor with its other agencies, Salient and Honeymoon Creative, over the past two years. The moves have created a powerful new agency with expertise in public relations, communications, social media, influencer marketing, content production, branding, paid media and customer experience.

The combined firms’ client list is as broad as its capabilities, including a mix of national, regional and local names such as Devon Energy, the Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum, the Oklahoma State Department of Health, Choctaw Nation, Moen, Sazerac, Post Consumer Products, Wells Enterprises, GALLO and Old Second Bank.

Glavas noted that some of the firm’s Oklahoma-based clients have been benefiting from the perspective of experts working on some of Honeymoon’s national brands, while the national brand clients have appreciated access to talent in midwestern markets that are often closer to their target consumers.

As part of Honeymoon, Candor will continue to have a strong Oklahoma presence. With 25 employees based in its downtown OKC office, and four more in Tulsa, it has been named OKC’s Agency of the Year four times by the local chapter of the Public Relations Society of America.

Executives said that, while Candor’s name is going away, its regional presence will remain front and center as Honeymoon capitalizes on a differentiating combination of national scale and regional perspective. The combined agency’s regional work touches 12 different states, and each has distinct local and regional audiences it seeks to connect with.

Founded in 2021, Honeymoon has been similarly lauded, having been named Best New Agency by leading PR trade PRovoke Media a year ago. Both agencies have been finalists for PRWeek’s Outstanding Small Agency honor.

Those honors reflect consistent growth from the group, which has posted double-digit revenue increases for four consecutive years, and a nearly 20% increase over the past 12 months. This growth earned Honeymoon top ten finishes on Adweek’s list of the fastest-growing agencies in each of the last two years.

Tricia Ewald, Honeymoon’s CEO, said the decision to combine these fast-growing agencies under the Honeymoon brand was driven in part by the firm’s desire to focus on clients and people rather than on managing multiple brands. Equally important, however, was how the new name spoke more clearly to the agency’s aspirations for itself and for its clients, while also better reflecting its dynamic current state.

“A honeymoon is universally understood as a place where someone wants to be – and wants to stay,” Ewald said. “It’s simple, it’s inspiring and it’s unifying for our people, our clients and our future partners alike.”
