• Thunder led going into the 4th. They had been 61-2 when leading to start the final frame.

What’s happening, Oklahoma? It is Thursday, June 12, and I’m filing today’s edition again from Paris where the Oklahoma Ambassadors of Music had a terrific concert and jazz band performance on Wednesday at Le Jardin D’Acclimatation.
Easily more than 200-300 people stopped by the free show at this beautiful Parisian park in the middle of a workday — and later today, it’s the choir taking the stage at L’Eglise de Madeleine for a performance of sacred works.
Here’s a peek of from yesterday’s show:

The other really huge part of the European tour today was a visit to The Louvre. Yes, it’s the world’s premiere museum, full stop. But it also gives “really giant mall” vibes, for real.
There’s a food court. And a McDonald’s.
We spent most of our time in the Richelieu and Denon wings — the former for its display of “Napoleon’s Apartment,” a fascinating look at the ornate life of the French leader. The latter was to get a glimpse of the Mona Lisa, and it was…small. Tiny. Really surprising given that many of the masterpieces in that wing are gigantic in size.
The Mona Lisa’s spatial brevity was jolting. You just thought it’d be, well, bigger. Let’s take a look at Napoleon’s dining room and then Mona Lisa, stacked.

And then here’s a crowd of people lifting their smart phones to take a far away photo of the Mona Lisa so they can get on to other things, lol. It’s a masterpiece, yes. I just expected something more awe-inducing.

And, lastly, lift a glass or a cup of coffee to Brian Wilson, who died on Wednesday at the age of 82. The leader of The Beach Boys was an iconic force in music for decades, usually under-credited for his impact on and innovations within popular music. For me, The Beach Boys belong right alongside The Beatles and The Rolling Stones when it comes to talking about best groups of the 1960s.

OKLAHOMA CITY – The Oklahoma House of Representatives on Tuesday got three new members.
Voters went to the polls in special elections to replace three members who left office early.
Tulsa residents tapped Democrat Amanda Clinton for House District 71.
Clinton received 85% of the vote while Republican Beverly A. Atteberry received 15%.
The seat became open when Rep. Amanda Swope, D-Tulsa, stepped down in December to take a position in the City of Tulsa’s government.
In House District 97, Democrat Aletia Timmons garnered 59% of the vote while fellow Democrat JeKia Harrison earned 41%.
The seat, covering parts of northeast Oklahoma City and Jones, became vacant when Rep. Jason Lowe, D-Oklahoma City, stepped down to serve on the Oklahoma County Commission.
No other candidates filed for the post.
In the race for House District 74 in northern Tulsa County and western Rogers County, Republican Kevin Wayne Nowood garnered 65% of the vote to Democrat Amy Hossain’s 35%.
